Trains are to heavy to travel over the ocean but they have something just as good, trains that travel under the ocean, in a big long tube think, in fact , they have one already, between England and France, its only about 20 miles long but they could make it as long as they wanted if they had the finances to do it.
Hey, Progress Huh.

Did you watch that train wreck special on the history channel the other day? In the late 1800s and early 1900s, about 10,000 people a year died in train accidents. It was either on the history channel or the history international channel. Very interesting.

Actually, it has already been done.

The first developer (sorry I can’t remember his name) to improve the Florida Keys built a railroad right to them, so that people could access his hotels and the real estate.

The railroad was detroyed by a major hurricane sometime in the 1930s, as I recall.

And then there’s the Ann Arbor railroad, whose route crossed Lake Michigan. On carferries. The railroad no longer runs that route, but carferries still carry automobiles, whose drivers are glad not to have to drive through Chicago.

I think so. Right after they make the flying car they would make the flying train. And this would be for people who get Air sick and Sea sick. Like me. LOL

Been on one in 2000 between Germany and Denmark. The train split in two pieces, then was moved onto a long ferry. When we got to Denmark the train was put back together and off we went. The regular travelers just stayed on the train all the way, but I needed to get out and see the sights being a tourist.

physics and general science would prevent that from happening. get a grip and get into the real world. did the airlines tick you off or something?

Contrary to the above people, there used to be a boat train leave Waterloo station every day for Felixstowe, there it was loaded onto a special ship, for the journey across the English channel, once there a french locomotive would take the train onwards to Paris. The name of the train was the Golden Arrow I think

Yes, Construction has already started in Newfoundland Canada, George and Harry of St.Johns started digging the foundation for the 1st of many piers that will support the bridge. They seem to be having trouble holding their breath under water. They started digging in 1970 and so far they have dug a trench 2 feet wide by 90 feet long at a depth starting at 6 inches going down to then Canada changed to the metric system and they have now travelled 9 meters. They hope that the bridge wil be high enough over the water to allow a rowboat to bring supplies to them by the year 2246 or 2247 whichever comes first. The main controversy right now is whether to charge $200.00 Canadian or $ 55.00 US to cross the bridge. The NDP party in Canada wants the bridge to be free. The Lieberal party want the bridge to be 4 laned. The Conservative party only want 2 lanes. The Green party don’t want autos on the bridge only electric trains. The debate goes on while construction continues.
