Who else has a few annoying co-workers that just come into your workspace and won’t stop talking about?

Try telling them you are going to write a book on annoying things people say at work. If they don’t stop, then write a book, earn zillions and leave! Good luck with that!

I personally like hearing people talk about themselves because maybe they need someone to give them an ear?..maybe the fact that you act like you seem to care will make their day. I’m sure you love to talk about yourself-and if not then hurray for you. At least people talk to you, I doubt you want to come on here ask for advice on getting your co-workers to try to at least talk to you, because no one will!

You know….some day you may need to talk to somebody. I hope they don’t turn to you and have an annoyed expression and your attitude.

I agree with you. There is an okay amount of chit chat, but that is why it is called water-cooler chat, not let’s-bother-the busy-guy chat. I now work from home now but saw the talking thing as a problem when I was in an office too. I had work to do and more than a couple minutes of conversation was too much. I would where headphones and keep my back to the door. This helped somewhat but one chatty girl still managed to break through. Eventually the company saw this problem and put sliding door on the cubicles to allow one to close their space out. Good luck.

This is right on. I mean I don’t mind if someone chats for a few min, but when they follow u around like a shadow and tell u thier life story it’s so annoying. I think some ppl are lonely or are just not aware of how others might get tiered of hearing so much talk.
