Do Pakistanis find the Bhutto family annoying?
I know the assassination of Benazir was tragic, but I have reason to believe that the Bhutto family may be kind of a pain. Benazir lied to Musharraf by coming to Pakistan before the national elections, instead of after to fulfill the terms of dropping her corruption charges. Many believed those corruption charges to be true, some unbiased speculators suggesting the accounts with the illegally obtained money being under friends’ names.
The family also seems to promote itself as a monarchy. The 19-year old Bilawal is being preordained as a successor before he’s even graduated from Oxford. That’s ridiculous. He’s like the co-chair of the political party too. Who do these people think they are?
I also think many in Pakistan believed Bhutto would sell the country out to the West, which I presume would be lucrative for her.
Am I wrong in thinking that the family is presumptuous and a party to their own tragedies in life?
